This may be the only type of aeroplane he will get on to come home as the ash cloud has reared it's ugly head again!!

Phone call from him about 11.30am and he was doing fine. It is raining but no wind so he said he would rather the rain than the wind!

75 Miles today

Got off good and early this morning hoping to make Ponferrado by evening. I knew that the second half of my ride would be tough as my maps says it reaches 1200 meters. I got to Astorga by 10:30, and was on the road for Ponferrado (about 60K away) by 11:30.
The first 20K was fine, the next 20k was constantly uphill, I had to use "first gear" a few times Walking!
But the last 20k was like being back on my motorcycle, just had to be careful of the sheep! It was freeezing though, I thought Spain was hot!
